About GEFAC
The diverse popular culture manifestations are when the folks really assume themselves, and the moment where a culture reveals its way to express itself. Aware of this, the Coimbra Academic Folklore and Ethnography Group (GEFAC), from Coimbra, Portugal is created in 1966, having developed since then an exhaustive research, interpretation and disclosure work of Portuguese traditional manifestations. GEFAC, a student-based group, uses the Portuguese popular manifestations in a creative perspective
