GAO is the name of more than one artist. 1. GAO is a Chinese Australian experimental acoustic folk musician. 2. A female singer from the early 90s. She made her debut with the NHK BS Young Battle, and quickly became a very popular singer with her androgynous look and husky voice. "Sayonara" "Yume no hito" "Kimi ni yurarete" are some of her prominent works, and she has also performed several times for the Annual Kouhaku Uta Gassen. Today, she is a producer in the indies hip-hop scene and goes by the name REAL-"G".
