
Forud Gorginpur (1945 – January 1, 2020) was a master of Qashqâyi music—celebrated as both a kamancheh and violin virtuoso from Iran’s Turkic‑speaking Qashqâyi nomad community. Born into a musical family (his father Habibkhan was a setar virtuoso and his brother Farhad also a noted performer), he first studied accordion and violin before moving to Tehran to apprentice with masters like Ali Tajvidi and Habibollah Badiei.
