The Flying Spiders was created by Spokane Washington's local MC: Som Jordan. Being a very well repected music journalist and performer for Spokane's music scene, Som Jordan knew a handful of musicians that would be interested in creating a live instrumental hip hop band. Everyone involved are influenced by artists/ groups such as Wu Tang Clan, Trible Called Quest, and The Roots. The Flying Spiders have a classic hip hop sound but also bring other elements to the music such as a saxaphone/ jazz influences and electronic loops
