About final academy
Formed in 1983 by ex Playthings, John Cusack and Steve Greenland ..keyboards and drums respectively, Grev Parker on bass, Neil Newman ( later Michael Parker) on guitar and vocalist Colin Wade. Influenced by contemporaries such as Ultravox, Talk Talk, Japan and Simple Minds the band started writing and recording their own material. An early demo was heard by music publishers Carlin and with their input a single Night Cafe / The Collector was released in 1983.
