Filippo Vitali (Florence , 1590 - Florence , November 10, 1654) was an Italian composer and cantor. Priest, he was admitted as a cantor in the papal chapel in Rome on 10 June 1631 and was in the service of the Barberinis as a composer and musician. On October 4, 1645 , he announced to his colleagues in the papal chapel that he had obtained permission from the pope to retire to Florence with a benefit and a pension. From 21 September 1648 to 17 December 1649 he was choirmaster at Santa Maria Maggiore in Bergamo.
