About Filippo Vismarri

Filippo Vismarri (1635 - 1706?) was an Italian composer. Before 1679 when he fled the plague to Venice, Vismarri must have taken holy orders as henceforth he had the title Don. In 1660 he sang at court in Leopold I's Il sagrificio d'Abramo and in his own Orontea and in the 1660s he acted as a sometime political agent for Count Humbert Cernin of Neuhaus.
