The story begins in 2001. Dan Brandis is at uni thinking up new and interesting ways to skip a lecture knowing music is where he’d rather be. With so many songs starting to write themselves, he puts the call out to some like-minded friends. The mission is set – get a band together and create some really good honest alt-pop rock songs. A band is born. Fighting For Alaska are Dan, Meike, Rohan and Dave – four people brought together by the love of a great hook.
