Fertile Reality started out in 1994. At first they made heavy doom-rock not unlike old SWANS while also mixing in influences of Hawkwind. But quite soon the music drifted to more new wave like terrories, and they started to sound more in the vein of bands like Joy Division, The Cure, And also the trees, and later on like Editors, Dragons or Interpol. The band has a strong DIY attitude, and recorded and released one minialbum and four albums. They debuted in 1998 with the EP "Micro".
