
Famoudou Don Moye, (born May 23, 1946) is an American jazz percussionist and drummer. Although he's played with many other prominent free jazz musicians, Don Moye is far and away best known for his work with the most highly acclaimed avant-garde combo of the '70s and '80s, the Art Ensemble Of Chicago (AEC) and is noted for his mastery of African and Caribbean percussion instruments and rhythmic techniques. By 1969, the AEC had augmented into the percussion-less quartet of Roscoe Mitchell
