About Failed Jazz Mutation
These three mad scientists of music were drawn together in this form in 2004 after already playing together in at times over the years. They learned that no matter how much they wanted to play jazz for them they had also absorbed a lifetime of captain beefheart and iggy pop, Frank zappa and black flag. Tom waits and the residents. Often aided in live show's by the unofficial 4th member, visual and performance artist Tavsh Costello, who often painted onstage or provided spoken word interludes-be they commentary of current events
