"The Fabulous Flames were originally formed by Lloyd Lovinder, Oswald "Dougie" Douglas and Kirk Salmon as a dance group, becoming a vocal outfit only after recruiting lead singer, Glen Ricketts on a Canadian tour. Upon their return to Jamaica, the newly formed quartet cut their hit version of Holly Holy for Clancy Eccles and over the next few years made a number of laudable singles. Around 1973, the group disbanded following Ricketts' return to Canada, where he was later joined by Salmons.
