
About Essra Mohawk
Essra Mohawk (born Sandra Elayne Hurvitz in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 23 April 1948; died 11 December 2023) was an American singer-songwriter who recorded a dozen albums. She is remembered for her songs, including "Sufferin' Til Suffrage" and "Interjections!" (both from Schoolhouse Rock!), Change of Heart" for Cyndi Lauper and "Stronger Than the Wind," recorded by Tina Turner. She was a former member of Frank Zappa's The Mothers Of Invention.
