About Emily Pinkerton
Emily Pinkerton grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana, learning old time music from Indiana, Illinois, and West Virginia. She’s also spent time in Valparaiso, Chile, learning old and revitalized folk traditions there. Her debut full-length CD, Valparaiso, bridges these two traditions, highlighting, adapting and blending from both. Her clear and haunting vocals rise above fine work on nylon string guitar, clawhammer banjo and old time fiddle, with accents from a second acoustic guitar
