About Earth Quake
#1 Earth Quake was formed in 1966, originally a white blues band known as Purple Earthquake, and by the early 1970's were better known as a power pop band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their 1st LP came out in 1971 on A&M records and they had music featured in the 1972 Steve McQueen film The Getaway. They were managed by Matthew King Kaufman and soon formed their own indie label Berserkley Records after neither band or label felt the 2nd LP on A&M was handled well.
