About Druid Chase
Druid Chase was born Audrey Laverne Hardwrick in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Her father was a Baptist preacher and she grew up singing in the church. She married James Kirby, had two children and was a housewife, when an agent heard her sing while riding in an elevator with her. Soon, as Audrey Kirby, she was performing locally, then travelling to nearby cities for gigs. In the late 50's, she moved to New York City, where she made her first recording of "Take Me In Your Garden".
