The artist is Tom May, born in Wigan in 1982 and living in the north-east of England. As Dream Cargoes, he creates experimental, electronic music made in the D.I.Y. spirit of the amateur. Guitar, ukulele, melodica, washboard and a Roland Juno-D synthesizer are his main instruments. Influences include Bark Psychosis, Belbury Poly, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Jens Lekman, Peter Hammill, Mordant Music, Gilbert & Sullivan, Northern Soul and Nite Jewel.
