About Down River
One of two: (1) Down River has quickly emerged as one of the North Carolina Piedmont's premiere bluegrass bands. The group has cultivated a traditional bluegrass sound that transports folks to a simpler time and place. Listeners will enjoy the sweet and soulful vocals of Hope Marasco. Hope grew up on a small farm without electricity or running water where making music by candlelight was her family’s favorite pastime. Because she was not raised listening to recorded music, her vocal shaping and high lonesome sound are uniquely her own.
