About Don Winters
American singer songwriter (born April 17, 1929, Tampa, Florida - died August 17, 2002, Nolensville, Tennessee) . Raised mostly in southern Georgia, he was the son of entertainer "Pop" Winters who headed "The Southern Strollers". He moved to Nashville in the 1950's. A strong vocalist noted for his yodeling and his longwinded singing. By the early 60's "The Yodeling King" was performing with Marty Robbins as a guitarist and vocalist. They remained friends with, performing with and social, until Robbins passing in 1982.
