Matthews McDaniels (birth name Darryl Lovelace) b. 31 May 1964 in Harlem, Manhattan, New York, USA) is one of the pioneers of hip hop culture and founding members of the legendary hip hop group Run-D.M.C.. He went to St. John's University in New York City as he proudly proclaimed in Run-D.M.C.'s hit single "Sucker MC's." McDaniels was one of the lead vocalists of the group, along with co-founder and friend Joseph "Run" Simmons.
