Divine Intervention Now is less a band or a collection of songs and more a tonality of being--a Stimmung for the end times. With acoustic instruments and a lo-fi approach, Divine Intervention Now works through the melancholia of doom-folk to arrive at moments of ego-rending ecstasy. Recorded in a bedroom in Fishtown, the five-song Demo of 2012 meditates on themes of alien invasion, global catastrophe, and technology and deftly merges flourishes of exotica with dissonant primitivism.
