About Dina Vierny
Dina Vierny (born Dina Yakovlevna Aibinder) was a French model, gallerist, art historian, and singer. Vierny was born on January 25, 1919, in Kishinev, Bessarabia, and moved to Paris with her family in 1925. At the age of 15, she became the model for sculptor Aristide Maillol, remaining his muse for 10 years. During World War II, she participated in the French Resistance, helping Jews escape from Nazi-occupied France. After the war, she opened her own gallery, where she exhibited the works of Maillol, as well as other famous artists.
