The Digital Forks are from St. Petersburg and represent a section of modern Russian music that - aware of its meager skills in an increasingly technical medium - straddles the spontaneously live and the studiously digital. It does so deliberately, in order to make some interesting observations about skill and social ability per se. Formed in 2006, DF have dabbled with hi- and low-fi extremes (being comfortable in neither!) in order to force the interface of what they call “pseudo analog.
