The artistic force behind the idea of Van Gogh by Van Eck is Diederick van Eck, a passionate musician, singer and art lover. The Van Gogh by Van Eck project was produced in an intense collaboration with Tom Harriman and Pamela Phillips Oland. Together they created a series of songs which they call “A Musical Journey into the Heart and Soul of Vincent van Gogh.” Twelve of Vincent’s artworks–each a milestone in the artist’s development—influenced the songwriting, enabling the telling of Vincent’s story as if spoken by the artist.
