Tokuichi Mine (Mine Tokuichi (三根徳一) (1908 - 1991) had previously been an unknown band singer. The singer and musician referred to himself as Dick Mine. As Dick Mine, he translated the lyrics of "Dinah" into Japanese by himself, and sang the song. "Dinah", sung by Dick Mine, became the first hit song for Teichiku Records, with "Dark Eyes" on the flip side. Mine was the vocalist for the Tito Monpalace Tango Ensemble, which recorded the first tango music in 1934. The group's records were wildly popular in Japan.
