Dezoriental is a fascinating group from France. Abdel Waheb Sefsaf (song, derbouka) and Alaoua Idir (ud, guitar) had been interested in their youth little in their Algerian roots: they had a preference for Western music and secluded themselves as much as possible from the Arab music where their parents listened to. Nowadays the pair composes music in which clearly influences from the Maghreb can be discovered together with Jean-Luc Frappa (accordion).
