About Dennis Gonzalez NY Quartet
The Dennis Gonzalez NY Quartet was gathered to play the First Trumpet Festival at Tonic in New York on August 9, 2003. The members of the band had never met before this date. The concert was recorded, and the tape inspired the band to go into the studio with the material. Clean Feed, who recorded the concert, supported a studio recording on November 22, 2003. The material was sketched out the night before, and the quartets only record, 'NY Midnight Suite', was recorded in less than 5 hours the following day.
