Dear Lovely was an ambient post-hardcore band from Kingston, Tennessee, United States. Dear Lovely began in 2006 as 5th Ave. North. The band grew and played up and down the east coast, developing a following. Over the next year, the members continued to grow as a group and individually as musicians. As they grew, their style of music came together, and they began defining themselves as a melodic hardcore band. After a year of playing shows and writing music, the vision for "Another Attempt Has Failed" took shape and Dear Lovely was born.
