Leiden, The Netherlands (2005- ) De Ruyter Korps is a metalband from The Netherlands. The band is characterised by its nationalist lyrical themes. Taking its name from the famous Dutch admiral and national hero, Michiel de Ruyter, De Ruyter Korps formed in 2005. The band released its first demo, which was a rather typical display of RAC, in 2007. Whilst being subject to frequent line-up changes, the band recorded more songs that same year, 4 of which were released on a split CD with Brigade M, called 'Kraken Gaat Door'.
