De renai is a garage punk band formed in spring 2015 based in New York City. With only one album, a definite style or genre isn't certain, though the band cites Deftones, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins and several Japanese acts like kamomekamome, Melt Banana, and the Pillows as influences. They have a strong lo-fi sound and break most conventions in production as they often keep "bad takes" in their recordings and deliver a heavily flawed performance.
