
David LaFlamme (born in New Britain, Connecticut, on 4 May 1941; died 7 August 2023) was an American singer and violinist remembered for co-founding It's a Beautiful Day. LaFlamme began studying violin at the age of five and later won a competition to perform as soloist with the Utah Symphony Orchestra. During the 1960s he performed with a wide variety of notable San Francisco acts, such as Jerry Garcia and Janis Joplin. He first helped create the band Electric Chamber Orkustra, and later, an early version of Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks.
