David ("Dave") Kincaid (born March 21, 1957) co-founded the New York band The Brandos with Ernie Mendillo in 1985. Besides playing with The Brandos, Kincaid has released two albums of Irish music. Kincaid's solo work has seen him dive head first into the historical melodies of the Irish-bred soldiers who fought in the American Civil War. His work interweaves two fiercely patriotic peoples' traditions into a set of songs that attempt to evoke an era of shared history that has a gravitas and mythology that continues to resonate.
