Dark Like a Restaurant was a Texas band in 1981 that stripped down the dissonant guitars and thick synthesizers of the era to make a particularly atmospheric post-punk. The lineup was led by Rex Koontz, who left the States soon after this record came out (1982). The band was an early adopter of the Roland TR808 drum machine and used it for all drums on these two tracks.
