We know of his life only that he was a Franciscan monk at a monastery in Venice, and that he was active in this city around the middle of the 17th century as a composer. According to some sources, he was a teacher of the composer, violinist and organist Giovanni Battista Bassani, and worked in the Duchess Chapel of the St. Mark in Venice. Only his opera Cleopatra has survived. The individual aria of this opera is on the repertoire of a number of leading world artists.
