Daniel's Tsuu-T'ina name is Bearcoat which symbolizes strength and warmth. Bearcoat is "one that keeps, protects and shelters the people. Daniels Crane was originally born at the Tsuu-T'ina Nation in Alberta, Canada. He was taught the Dakota/Lakota tradition from an early age, by both his mother and grandmother, values such as spirituality, family, and the importance of laughter. These values have formed in him a strong belief system which can be felt in his performance of his music.
