About Daniel J Turnbull Dan Turnbull was born in Boston in 1980. He grew up in Wayland, Massachusetts before studying writing and poetics at Hampshire College in Western Massachusetts. Dan Turnbull's sounds are a highly successful hybrid of modern and alternative rock, but nevertheless retain overtones of classical 50’s and 60’s rock-defining Americana sound. Within this context of hybrid, Turnbull produces a charming yet rough-around-the-edges music that captures the best elements of past and present rock music.
