Daithi Rua (Irish for red David) is an Irish musician and songwriter from Shannonbridge in county Offaly. Brought up by musical parents, he was given the songs of the Dubliners and Planxty to eat and drink and later digested artists like the Furey's, Christy Moore, Moving Hearts in the 1980's. He never seemed to get full and apart from singing in his parents’ folk band as a teenager, Daithi took part in several musical productions both in school and in local musical societies.
