About Daan Manneke
Daan Manneke (Kruiningen, 7 november 1936) is a Dutch composer and organ player. Manneke studied composition with Jan van Dijk, and organ with Huub Houët and Louis Toebosch at the Brabant Conservatory of Tilburg. Afterwards he continued his organ studies with Belgian organist Kamiel d'Hooghe in Brussels. He also took composition lessons with Ton de Leeuw in Amsterdam. Through Ton de Leeuw's friendship he came into contact with Olivier Messiaen, who also taught him privately.
