About Crib Death
Crib Death was born in Baton Rouge, LA in 1977 at the intersection of rock, progressive rock, glam, country, pop, and the nascent punk movement. Ostensibly a punk band (by name) the band came to fruition when Johnny Afterbirth (lead shouting) presented Myron Hitler (guitar, shouting) with an unsolicited page of lyrics: the song "Crib Death." Myron wrote the music, and a band was needed to play the song. Scabs Manilow (synth, shouting) and Meningitis Collins (bass, shouting) soon joined to fill out the ensemble.
