About Cratophane
Based in Rennes, Cratophane are a French post-metal trio, founded in 2020 by drummer Aymeric Aubert, bassist Ronan Grall (of Huata and Brain Pyramid) and guitarist/synthesist Simon Bouin (who also records as Marc Robot). Inspired by the sprawling storytelling of Pelican and Russian Circles, Cratophane also combine zeuhl, krautrock, noise rock and avant-prog influences from Magma, Oxbow, Aluk Todolo, Blind Idiot God, Ni and Voivod to perform dynamic and ever-changing instrumental journeys.
