Cowlick is the name of at least two artists. Cowlick is a queer folk pop project in Seattle, WA that began in 2010 when Jane Applesauce was snubbed by a banjo store owner who said she couldn't play music. She returned later that night and stenciled "have a cup of humilitea" at his doorstep and wrote a song called "A is for Anarchy." Common themes running through her songs are mortality, friendship, intimacy, struggle, alienation, environmental destruction, mental health, white privilege, and gender + sexuality.
