Born on September 9th, 1946 in Bucharest, Romania, Costin Cazaban is a composer, musicologist, aesthetician and journalist. He began his studies at the Superior National Conservatoire of Music of Bucharest, where he was awarded his first prizes on notation, analysis and composition. From 1971 to 1983 he serves as Professor of analysis and notation at the Superior School of Music Georges Enesco in Bucharest. He spends the years of 1974-75 in Germany as an exchange student at the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst and in Darmstadt
