
Cosmas Alder (* around 1497 in Baden , † 7th November 1550 in Bern ) was a Swiss composer and magistrate . Alder visited the Stiftsschule St. Vinzenz in Bern until 1511. In 1524 he was confirmed as a singer (not a cantor ) at the St. Vinzenz Abbey in Bern. After the introduction of the Reformation on 15 April 1528, Alder was elected builder. He held this post until his death. In the same year he was also a writer of the conductor of Frienisberg.
