Clément Jannequin [also spelt Janequin] was a French composer of long dramatic chansons in 4 parts that were often about birdsong, battles or hunts, and he also wrote Masses and other church music. He was possibly a student of Josquin des Préz. He lived from about 1585 to 1558 and was a native of Bordeaux.
