About Claytown Troupe
CLAYTOWN TROUPE - In the late 80’s they were the only real alternative to The Cult, more anthemic and authentic than Astbury & Co’s rawk; Claytown Troupe were an Alt-Rock act touted as the next big band after The Cult’s fake rock and the authentic crusty rock of Pop Will Eat Itself & Crazyhead. Moving a few hundred thousand units internationally over their short period in the limelight, they broke into the UK charts before sadly disappearing in 1992 after touring with Pearl Jam.
