Christoph Transchel (Composer, Keyboard Teacher, Bach's Pupil) Born: June 12, 1721 - Braunsdorf, near Weißenfels, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany Died: January 8, 1800 - Dresden, Saxony, Germany Christoph Transchel was a German composer and keyboard teacher. He entered the Gymnasium in Merseburg in 1731 and was a pupil of Christoph Förster. He enrolled as a student of philosophy and theology at the University of Leipzig in 1742 (enrollment on June 21, 1742).
