Christodoulos Halaris (Χριστόδουλος Χάλαρης, Athens, Greece 1946 - 30 January 2019) was a Greek composer and scholar. A leading expert on the study and reconstruction of Byzantine and ancient Greek music, he turned to musicology and composing after studying mathematics in Paris. Taking his cues from religious iconography, traditional and popular Greek music, Hallaris began reconstructing fragmentary (and sometimes nonexistent) old Greek music documents.
