About Christian Herwich
Christian Herwich, (also Christiaen) (1609-sep.1663) was a composer, gambist and lutenist. From 1633-1639 he made a trip to Persia with Duke Friedrich III von Schleswig-Holstein, and for a short time was a musician in the Court Chapel in Weimar. In 1652 he was engaged for the wedding festivities for Princess Magdalena Sibylla and Duke Friedrich of Sachsen-Altenburg in Dresden, and sometime between 1649-1660 he was employed at the court of Wilhelm VI in Kassel. In September 1663 he was found drowned in the river Fulda in or near Kassel.
