Chris Whitehead is interested in the way sound can be used to evoke landscape, location and history. He has released field recordings on the Electronic Musik label and Impulsive Habitat. In his work and in the manipulated sound duo Ammonites with Chris Corner, the intention is always to immerse the listener in an unseen, textural environment. His latest CD is "Gryphaea" released on the OBS label. Chris is based in Whitby on the north east coast of England- A place which reverberates with deep echoes of the past.
