About Choir of Vatopedi Fathers
The Choir of Vatopedi Fathers (Χορός Βατοπαιδινών Πατέρων) is a monastic choir based at the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi on Mount Athos, Greece. The ensemble is composed of monks who preserve and perform the rich tradition of Byzantine chant, a form of sacred music central to Orthodox Christian worship. Their recorded repertoire includes hymns from the liturgical calendar, with particular emphasis on the services of Great Lent and Holy Week, as well as other feasts of the Orthodox Church.
